Headteacher's Welcome
I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you from all of us at Pipworth Community Primary School.
It is a privilege to serve the community of the Manor.
Our vision is for all pupils to achieve their best outcomes through a creative, inclusive and engaging curriculum, enabling them to become lifelong learners.
We have a strong belief in our eight core values the importance of determination, respect, community, teamwork and honesty, and we are committed to challenging inequality in any form through an inclusive ethos. Our school values are taught through the curriculum, assemblies and general daily life in school.
We put the individual needs of the children at the heart of everything we do, because of this, most make outstanding progress from their individual starting points. We are a highly inclusive school. Pipworth celebrates the success of children of all abilities within a nurturing and caring atmosphere and every visitor comments on the warmth and friendliness of the staff, all secured within a culture of high expectation. I am lucky to have a hardworking, dedicated, experienced teaching team that take pride in everything they do.
Our motto is ‘Reach for the Stars’ we teach our children about aspiration and give them the message that they can achieve anything with hard work and determination. We have a strong emphasis on employment, a STEM rich curriculum and links with organisations like Sheffield University to encourage learning beyond the primary phase. Children enjoy our annual ‘Careers Week’ where children learn of different forms of employment.
Our exciting and vibrant curriculum stimulates learning, enabling children to grow into proud, resilient and responsible young people. The curriculum supplies children with first hand experiences through visits, visitors and events. Outdoor learning is a special feature of the school.
Children and families tell us they feel part of a family at Pipworth and parents are encouraged to play a key role in their child's education. Families receive support in their daily lives from our caring pastoral support team.
Our drive is to secure good reading outcomes for all pupils and a love of reading permeates the curriculum, using high quality texts and a rigorous and consistent approach to phonics. Children are encouraged to read at every opportunity.
The school continues to be recognised beyond the school through many external awards and accolades- Silver Rights Respecting School Award, Basic Skills Award, Arts and Primary Science award and we are a Bronze Maker School in conjunction with Sheffield University.
We understand that children learn best when they feel safe, so we have a commitment to pupils well-being and personal development. As well as ‘Pipworth passports’ and positions of responsibility, children are encouraged to join in with our sporting activities at lunchtimes and a range of after school clubs. We also run family events, holiday clubs and several residential opportunities throughout the year groups.
